January 21, 2021 began the largest increase of living in America since Carter was President. The average cost of gas was $1.86 a gallon. Just before that I had changed jobs to working at home, during COVID. During that time it cost $38.00 to fill up my Dodge Charger. This weekend it took $58.00. Yet our Government denies inflation exist.
How does this affect your Mental Health? The cost of living is rising faster than wages are, your trying to choose food, gas, rent or power or do I get my counseling or mental health medications? This is when people begin to stop doing counseling, and taking medications please do not stop. It is over whelming, trust me I know I am working on having my full time job, I work most nights in Private Practice from 5-10 PM, and am fixing to start creating custom products to help invest and pay bills. To keep buying my medications, life insurance, and buy food for myself.
Right now families are coming together and living together, sharing bills to help with the cost of living. Finances can cause a great strain on families and their mental health. Remember your children feed on your stress and you’r fighting. If you find yourself in a case like this please call my office, if you are in recovery and it is weighing on you and you’r afraid of relapse call my office. We have a very generous sliding fee scale.
